Consultant Physiotherapists (Part Time to Full Time)
Community Therapists is a dynamic interdisciplinary rehabilitation practice that provides services to a range of insurance and government fee-payers. Established in 1989, our team of PTs, OTs, SLP’s, Kinesiologists/RAs, and Psychologists deliver evidence based rehabilitation in several BC communities.
We currently have positions available in Tri-Cities, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford & Chilliwack. Health populations include ABI/Stroke, Orthopaedics/Trauma, General Medical and Geriatrics.
What are we looking for?
- PTs with excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills & an ability to handle a diverse caseload with multiple funders
- Strong report writing & documentation skills
- Resourcefulness to work in different environments including client homes, group homes, gyms, pools and extended care facilities
- The committment to work at least 20 hours/week with AM & PM availability
- Candidates with a reliable vehicle & driver’s licence
- A team player willing to share & collaborate with colleagues
- The ability and desire to supervise kinesiologists/rehabilitation assistants
- Must have CPTBC registration & reside in BC to be considered
What do our Physiotherapists do?
- Complete at-home assessments
- Implement mobility & exercise programs for home safety
- Develop gym based activation programs
- Develop pool based activation programs
- Participate in interdisciplinary conferences
- Supervise and educate rehabilitation assistants
- Write detailed reports and communicate regularly with team members
- Develop creative solutions to address complex physical disabilities

Consultant OTs – Fraser Valley & Greater Vancouver
Our growing community based practice requires 3 OTs to provide Home Health and Brain Injury rehabilitation services. The 3 regions are Vancouver/Richmond, Surrey/Langley/Whiterock & Abbotsford/Langley. Duties include completion of Home Safety Assessments, Homecare Evaluations, Community Integration and facilitating Return to Work for clients with complex orthopedic and neurological conditions. Hours of work are flexible and candidates interested in part-time and full time hours will be considered. A minimum of 2 years of experience, is required and experience working in a 3rd party funded and/or community based setting is a strong asset.
Community Based Paediatric OT - Surrey/Langley
Our growing community based practice requires an experienced paediatric OT to provide home, school and community based rehabilitation for clients with autism, brain injuries and developmental concerns. Registration with the ACT RASP or eligibility for inclusion on the RASP is required. Duties include home based assessment and implementation of treatment plans to address one or more of ADLs, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual perception and other functional areas. A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in paediatrics and a minimum of 2 years overall work experience is required.
LOCUM - Clinic Based Paediatric OT – Vancouver
We are seeking an experienced paediatric OT for holiday coverage for the entire month of November 2010. The client population is 75% autism and the remainder includes children with other developmental and fine motor delays. Clients are ages 3-16. Duties include assessments, preparation of reports, and implementation of treatment programs to improve dexterity, gross motor skills, visual perception and cognitive functioning. Consultant OTs – Sunshine Coast & Lilooet
We are seeking part time/casual OTs to provide community based rehabilitation for our WorkSafe BC clientele in the areas of Powell River, Lund and Lilooet. Primary health populations are Orthopedics and Traumatic Brain Injury. Duties include Home Safety Assessments and implementation of Community Living Skills programs as well as supervision of rehabilitation assistants. Medical Legal Consultant - OT
Our growing legal practice requires an OT to provide Functional Capacity Evaluations and/or Lifecare Plans. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in at least one clinical assessment area and his/her CV will reflect a strong commitment to continuing professional education. Certification in work capacity evaluation or life care planning is a strong asset.
