Kenzie Blois

Kenzie obtained a Diploma in Therapeutic recreation from Douglas College in 1987 and joined Community Therapists in 2006. Kenzie works with individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities. She implements pool, physical skills, cognitive remediation, and communication programs. Kenzie’s areas of interest are the geriatric population and clients with mental health conditions. Her continuing professional development courses include The Brain & Behaviour: Understanding the Impact of Brain Damage in Dementia and The E.M.P.A.T.H.Y Method, Changing Elder Care from Task Orientation to Person Centered Care.

Jenny Cheng

Jenny completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2009 at Simon Fraser University. Previous to joining CTI, Jenny had been volunteering at RCH in the Cardiac Unit for a year and a half working under Physiotherapists to assist with the implementation of exercise classes. Jenny speaks Cantonese at an intermediate level.

Priya Doad

Priya Doad
Dip. Rehab Therapy Assistant

Priya completed her Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant Diploma in 2006 at CDI College and joined Community Therapists in 2007. Priya works with the acquired brain injury and orthopedic health populations. She possesses strong communication skills and is also fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu. Her continuing professional development includes courses in acquired brain injury and adapted fitness.

Tracy Fisher

Tracy Fisher
Dip. Health Science, Cert. Fitness Instructor

Tracy holds a Diploma in Health Science and is also a Can-Fit Pro certified fitness instructor. Since joining Community Therapists in 1996 Tracy has gained extensive experience implementing cognitive remediation, physical skills, and return to work programs. She works with clients with brain and orthopedic injuries. Tracy’s recent continuing professional development includes Nutrition Knowledge, Healing Through Movement and Exercise Rehabilitation of the Shoulder.

Jenna Forde

Jenna joined Community Therapists in Summer 2009. She graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2009 in the top 15% of her class with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics. Jenna has a variety of volunteer and work experience including working with pre-school aged children with various cognitive and physical development abilities. She works with a variety of health populations including acquired brain injury and soft tissue/orthopedic injury. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Physiotherapy at UBC.

Irene Fung

Irene Fung

Irene completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 1997 and joined the practice in 1998. Her past work experience included Fitness Counseling at Vancouver Health & Sciences Center (Employees Wellness Center). She has implemented numerous physical skills, cognitive rehabilitation and community integration programs and has worked with clients with neurological and orthopedic disability. She has also completed several job coaching assignments.

Trina Harrison Rehab Assistant

Trina Harrison

Trina obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2006 and joined Community Therapists in 2011. She is a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) who worked in Victoria for three years, specializing in active rehabilitation and fitness programs for seniors. She has exprerience implementing fitness programs for adults with special needs and has a keen interest in joint replacement and rehabilitation. Trina will be seeing clients in Vancouver, Burnaby and New Westminster.

Marie Hyrman

Marie completed her Diploma in the Therapeutic Recreation Technician Program at Douglas College in 1991. She has nearly 20 years of experience as a rehabilitation assistant with Community Therapists. During that time Marie has gained extensive experience implementing cognitive remediation, life skills, and physical skills programs. She also provides support to our rehabilitation teams in residential care facilities. Marie has strong communication skills and is fluent in Czech. Marie’s recent continuing professional development courses include Cognitive Behavior Analysis and Brain Injury.

Kiley Kwak

Kiley graduated from the University College of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2008 and joined Community Therapists the same year. She works with a variety of health populations including clients with acquired brain injury and soft tissue/orthopedic injury. She implements life skills and cognitive remediation programs, job coaching and physical skills programs. Kiley attended the BCRPA Fitness Conference in 2007 and is currently participating in the Canadian Online Fitness Educators course. Kiley is a member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists. She is currently enrolled at UBC and studying to become an Occupational Therapist.

Charmaine Leung

Charmaine graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 1998. She has over 10 years of experience as a rehabilitation assistant with Community Therapists during which time she has developed expertise in providing instruction in safe lifting, body mechanics, energy conservation, and work style modification. She has strong communication skills and works as a member of a rehabilitation team with a variety of health populations that includes acquired brain injury, geriatrics and soft tissue/orthopedic injury. Charmaine is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Terra Maddalozzo

Terra graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2009. Terra has 2 and a half years experience working as a Front Line Support Worker for the STAR program for children with disabilities, put on by Abbotsford Community Services. She also has 3 and a half years experience working as a Support Worker for the Discovery and Focus on Friends program for adults with disabilities. In addition to her interest in rehabilitation, Terra is currently working on a diploma in Cardiology Technology at BCIT. Terra is a practicing member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists and sees clients in Langley, Abbotsford and Chilliwack.

Wilson Mah

Wilson graduated from Simon Fraser University with a bachelor of Kinesiology in 2010. Wilson’s past experience includes exercise prescription in a clinic-based setting under the direction of Physiotherapists. He works concurrently at a specialty shoe store where he assists customers in selecting custom fit orthotics. Wilson is the President of the Canadianized Asian Club at Simon Fraser University where he leads meetings and coordinates over 500 members. He will be working with clients in the Surrey, Langley and Abbotsford areas. Wilson is a practicing member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) and he speaks fluent Cantonese and basic Taiwanese and Mandarin.

Angie obtained a Bachelor of Human Kinetics / Psychology at the University of British Columbia in 2009. In addition to her designation as a Professional Fitness & Lifestyle Consultant, she has earned the title of Certified Exercise Physiologist, the most advanced health and fitness practitoner designation recognized by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. Angie works with a variety of health populations including acquired brain injury, soft tissue/orthopedic injury, chronic pain, as well as paediatrics. Angie sees clients in Vancouver, Richmond, Sunshine Coast and on the North Shore.

Howard Pai RA

Howard graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. As an aspiring Athletic Therapist, Howard has 5 years of therapeutic rehabilitation experience, where he has worked with various SFU varsity teams, ICBC and WSBC clients, local sports teams, and private physiotherapy clients. He has experience as a team trainer with various tape jobs, performing passive stretches for athletes, and first aid for athletes during competition. His continuing professional development courses include BCRPA Fitness Theory and BCRPA Weight Training, postural assessment, and exercise prescription. Howard is a practicing member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) and he speaks fluent Mandarin.

Diane Salvail

Diane Salvail

Diane graduated from the University of Victoria with a BA in Kinesiology in 1999 and joined Community Therapists in 2002. Her extensive knowledge of adapted fitness facilitates client’s early return to work following soft-tissue, orthopedic and brain injury. She has experience in teaching principles of correct body mechanics, safe lifting and the use of adaptive equipment. She is an effective communicator and has strong organizational skills. Her recent continuing professional development includes courses on Postural Assessment, Exercise Prescription and Low Back Injury Prevention. Diane is fluent in French.

Mike Rastad
B.Sc. Kin

Mike received his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2012 from the University of the Fraser Valley. He’s currently working on obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Honours degree. While studying, Mike volunteered with a number of community organizations and programs such as Pacific Sport Fraser Valley and Camp Skylark: Children’s Bereavement Camp where he was a cabin leader and observed the need for intervention, consultation, information and guidance for grieving children. Mike is a member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BACK) and he’s also certified in the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). With Community Therapists, Mike will be implementing Occupational and Physical Therapy programs for clients in the Chilliwack, Abbotsford and Langley areas.

Megan Taylor RA

Megan Taylor

Megan graduated from the University of Calgary with her degree in Kinesiology in June, 2010. She has six months experience working in the community under the supervision of an OT, as well as 5 months experience as a Physiotherapy Assistant. Megan has extensive knowledge of chronic diseases and conditions and over 300 hours of practical work with this population. She is a very strong swimmer, and she plans to apply for OT school in the future.

Mike Vandervelden

Mike graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2009 with a major in Kinesiology and an extended minor in Psychology. He is a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) and he works concurrently as an Active Rehabilitation Therapist. In addition, he volunteers with the YMCA Healthy Heart program where he leads warm ups and cool downs, and monitors and adjusts workout routines for patients with cardiac limitations. Mike’s past experience includes both exercise prescription for athletes as well as program design for patients with soft tissue injuries. He works with clients in the White Rock, Delta, Surrey and Langley areas.

Reginia graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics in 2007. She joined Community Therapists shortly thereafter. Reginia has 2 years experience as a fitness evaluator as well as expertise in implementing cardiac rehabilitation programs. Reginia works with a variety of health populations including acquired brain injury and soft tissue/orthopedic injury. Reginia is a BCRPA registered Personal Trainer and she is fluent in Cantonese and has basic knowledge of Mandarin.

Ranko Vukovic

Ranko graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics. During his undergrad, Ranko worked as a research assistant for the BC Cancer Research Centre and the Centre for Hip Health & Musculoskeletal Research at VGH. As a personal trainer at the Steve Nash Fitness World, he customized training programs for his clients and provided them with motivation and education on achieving their personal health fitness goals. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Ranko volunteered with the Serbian 2010 Olympic Committee as a NOC Assistant. Ranko is a practicing member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) and is a BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer. He is fluent in Serbian and sees clients in Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby.

Jennifer graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and joined Community Therapists as a rehabilitation assistant in 2008. She works with clients with brain and orthopedic injuries by implementing cognitive remediation, physical skills, and return to work programs. Jennifer’s area of interest is adapted fitness. Her continuing professional development courses include BCRPA Fitness Theory and BCRPA Weight Training.

Henry Young

Henry received his Bachelor’s degree of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 2011. Prior to graduating, Henry also obtained his BCRPA Certificate in Weight and Personal Training. He works concurrently as a Personal Trainer at the Steve Nash Fitness World providing clients with customized training programs, performing fitness evaluations, and teaching a group fitness classes. Henry was also a volunteer with the Happy Hearts Program at VGH where he assisted patients with cardiovascular exercise and strength training programs. Henry speaks conversational Cantonese and sees clients in Vancouver and Richmond.
