Tabitha Alexander

Tabitha completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2018 from Simon Fraser University. Tabitha has experience working with clients on rehabilitation exercise programs as well as evaluating work specific functional capacity for various occupations. In addition to her work at Community Therapists as a Kinesiologist, Tabitha is also a Yamuna Body Rolling Instructor as well as a Dance Instructor. She is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She is accepting clients in the West Kootenay region.

Natasha Basarm

Natasha completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2018 from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Natasha provided research and input towards the development of YMCA's Mind Fit Program, which was designed to support teens in learning how to incorporate physical activity into their mental wellness plan. She is also a trainer for the Damesh United Football Club, where she develops and executes training programs for both well and injured athletes. Natasha is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She is fluent in Punjabi and sees clients in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and Richmond.

Irene completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 1997 and joined the practice in 1998. Her past work experience included Fitness Counseling at Vancouver Health & Sciences Center (Employees Wellness Center). She has implemented numerous physical skills, cognitive rehabilitation and community integration programs and has worked with clients with neurological and orthopedic disability. She has also completed several job coaching assignments.

Tracy holds a Diploma in Health Science and is also a Can-Fit Pro certified fitness instructor. Since joining Community Therapists in 1996, Tracy has gained extensive experience implementing cognitive remediation, life skills, exercise programs and pool programs to support therapist return to function and work goals. Tracy's recent continuing professional development courses include Nutrition Knowledge, Healing Through Movement - Fitness and Rehab Distance Education. She works with brain injured and orthopedic health populations in Whistler, Pemberton, North Vancouver, as well as, on the Sunshine Coast.

Alexa completed her Bachelor of Sport and Fitness Leadership from Camosun College in 2017. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Alexa worked as a Laser Technician for injury treatment under the supervision of a physician. She also has experience as a fitness evaluator and has completed fitness assessments for clients with a variety of health conditions. Alexa is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) as well as a member of the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. She is accepting clients in Comox, Courtenay and Campbell River.

Sererna Jaswal RA

Serena obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2013 and joined Community Therapists in the same year. Prior to working at CTI, Serena worked at other private community based rehabilitation companies. Serena has experience implementing exercise programs to reduce discomfort and increase mobility for a wide variety of clients and injury profiles. She is fluent in Punjabi and is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She accepts clients in Surrey, Langley and Abbotsford.

Bhavjot Kang

Bhavjot completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2018 from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Bhavjot volunteered at CARE at the Delta Hospital. In this role, she worked with elderly patients to build companionship through one-on-one social visits. She also worked as an athletic trainer at UBC where she completed injury assessments for athletes and performed other functions related to injury prevention. She also provided pre-season base line concussion tests, emergency first-aid and various forms of treatments. Bhavjot is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She is fluent in Punjabi and sees clients in Surrey, Delta and Richmond.

Sage graduated with her Degree in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia in 2014. She previously worked in a chronic pain clinic assisting physiotherapists in their treatment of clients. During that time, she would administer therapeutic modalities such as TENS and ultrasound, prescribe and coach rehab exercise and develop and instruct personalized aqua therapy exercise programs for clients with a variety of injuries. Sage is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She sees clients in the West Kootenay region, including Trail, Rossland, Nelson, Castlegar and Ymir.

Charmaine Leung

Charmaine graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 1998. She has over 10 years of experience as a rehabilitation assistant with Community Therapists during which time she has developed expertise in providing instruction in safe lifting, body mechanics, energy conservation, and work style modification. She has strong communication skills and works as a member of a rehabilitation team with a variety of health populations that includes acquired brain injury, geriatrics and soft tissue/orthopedic injury. Charmaine is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Amar graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 2015. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Amar worked as a Kinesiologist with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation provider in occupational rehabilitation (OR1 & 2), RTWSS and the WorkSafeBC Recovery and Return to Work pilot program. Amar designed work simulation activities and developed and monitored graduated return to work plans in collaboration with his client's healthcare team. Amar joined Community Therapists in 2018. He is fluent in Punjabi and is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). Amar will be providing return to work support services for clients in Surrey and Delta.

MacLean graduated with his Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria in 2011. He has previously worked in a number of physiotherapy clinics such as MS Society and Oceanside Physiotherapy. During that time, MacLean would aid occupational rehabilitation programs and facilitate community based exercise programs for those with chronic health conditions. MacLean would also work one-on-one and in a group setting with participants of The Take Heart Program, to create and supervise individualized exercise programs in a safe environment. MacLean is accepting clients in the West Kootenay region.

Kajal completed her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science with a double minor in Biology and Psychology in 2017 at the University of Tulsa. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Kajal worked at other rehabilitation companies creating active rehabilitation programs tailored to her client's injuries. She also provided health education and equipped clients with resources to continue their rehabilitation and exercises at home. Kajal is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She speaks Punjabi fluently and services the Fraser Valley.

Kate Pearsall

Kate Pearsall completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2018 from Simon Fraser University. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Kate volunteered at the Residence for Independent Living Society where she assisted residents of various abilities with exercise and stretching programs which included weekly swimming and pool exercises . She has also volunteered with semi-quadriplegic clients to carry out weekly exercises and stretches. Kate is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She sees clients on the North Shore and in Vancouver, Burnaby and Tri-Cities.

Amit Prasad obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2017 from Simon Fraser University. Before joining the team at CTI, Amit volunteered for Club Aviva's Empowering Steps Movement Therapy where he worked with children with neuromuscular disorders. He also has over ten years of experience working in the customer service sector strengthening his communication and interpersonal skills. Amit is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). He is fluent in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi and sees clients in Surrey, Delta, New Westminster and Burnaby.

Harneet completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2018 from Simon Fraser University. Previous to joining Community Therapists, Harneet worked at other rehabilitation companies. During that time, she gained experience creating active rehab programs tailored to client's needs and injuries, equipping clients with resources to continue rehabilitation and exercise outside of the program and providing health education. Jenna completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2010 from the University of New Brunswick. Before joining Community Therapists, Jenna worked as a Disability Management Assistant Coordinator at Drake Medox Health Solutions providing active rehabilitation and work conditioning to injured workers in Occupational Rehabilitation programs. She has also worked as a Kinesiologist at Oceanside Physiotherapy in Parkville B.C. Jenna is member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK), and is a Certified Personal Trainer with CSEP Canada. Jenna's specialty is Return to Work Support Services and she also accepts community clients in Vancouver and Burnaby.

Diane Salvail

Diane graduated from the University of Victoria with a BA in Kinesiology in 1999 and joined Community Therapists in 2002. Her extensive knowledge of adapted fitness facilitates client's early return to work following soft-tissue, orthopedic and brain injury. She has experience in teaching principles of correct body mechanics, safe lifting and the use of adaptive equipment. She is an effective communicator and has strong organizational skills. Her recent continuing professional development includes courses on Postural Assessment, Exercise Prescription and Low Back Injury Prevention. Diane is fluent in French.

Mike graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2009 with a major in Kinesiology and an extended minor in Psychology. He is a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) and he works concurrently as an Active Rehabilitation Therapist. Mike's past experience includes both exercise prescription for athletes as well as program design for patients with musculoskeletal injuries and other medical conditions. Mike also works as a scuba instructor and is working towards offering adaptive therapy through scuba diving and teaching scuba to those with disabilities. He sees clients in the Abbotsford, Langley and Surrey areas.

Reginia graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics in 2007. She joined Community Therapists shortly thereafter. Reginia has 2 years experience as a fitness evaluator as well as expertise in implementing cardiac rehabilitation programs. Reginia works with a variety of health populations including acquired brain injury and soft tissue/orthopedic injury. Reginia is a BCRPA registered Personal Trainer and she is fluent in Cantonese and has basic knowledge of Mandarin.

Jennifer graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and joined Community Therapists as a rehabilitation assistant in 2008. She works with clients with brain and orthopedic injuries by implementing cognitive remediation, physical skills, and return to work programs. Jennifer's area of interest is adapted fitness. Her continuing professional development courses include BCRPA Fitness Theory and BCRPA Weight Training.
