Alexa completed her Bachelor of Sport and Fitness Leadership from Camosun College in 2017. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Alexa worked as a Laser Technician for injury treatment under the supervision of a physician. She also has experience as a fitness evaluator and has completed fitness assessments for clients with a variety of health conditions. Alexa is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) as well as a member of the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. She is accepting clients in Comox, Courtenay and Campbell River.

Amar graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 2015. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Amar worked as a Kinesiologist with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation provider in occupational rehabilitation (OR1 & 2), RTWSS and the WorkSafeBC Recovery and Return to Work pilot program. Amar designed work simulation activities and developed and monitored graduated return to work plans in collaboration with his client's healthcare team. Amar joined Community Therapists in 2018. He is fluent in Punjabi and is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). Amar will be providing return to work support services for clients in Surrey and Delta.

Bhavjot completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2018 from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Bhavjot volunteered at CARE at the Delta Hospital. In this role, she worked with elderly patients to build companionship through one-on-one social visits. She also worked as an athletic trainer at UBC where she completed injury assessments for athletes and performed other functions related to injury prevention. She also provided pre-season base line concussion tests, emergency first-aid and various forms of treatments. Bhavjot is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She is fluent in Punjabi and sees clients in Surrey, Delta and Richmond.

Charmaine Leung

Charmaine graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 1998. She has over 10 years of experience as a rehabilitation assistant with Community Therapists during which time she has developed expertise in providing instruction in safe lifting, body mechanics, energy conservation, and work style modification. She has strong communication skills and works as a member of a rehabilitation team with a variety of health populations that includes acquired brain injury, geriatrics and soft tissue/orthopedic injury. Charmaine is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Diane Salvail

Diane graduated from the University of Victoria with a BA in Kinesiology in 1999 and joined Community Therapists in 2002. Her extensive knowledge of adapted fitness facilitates client's early return to work following soft-tissue, orthopedic and brain injury. She has experience in teaching principles of correct body mechanics, safe lifting and the use of adaptive equipment. She is an effective communicator and has strong organizational skills. Her recent continuing professional development includes courses on Postural Assessment, Exercise Prescription and Low Back Injury Prevention. Diane is fluent in French.

Irene Fung

Irene completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 1997 and joined the practice in 1998. Her past work experience included Fitness Counseling at Vancouver Health & Sciences Center (Employees Wellness Center). She has implemented numerous physical skills, cognitive rehabilitation and community integration programs and has worked with clients with neurological and orthopedic disability. She has also completed several job coaching assignments.

Jacob completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology in Exercise Science in 2018 from the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV). Before starting at Community Therapists, he volunteered as an Assistant Coach with Special Olympics BC where he ran sports programs for athletes with various disabilities and attended tournaments. He also collaborated with faculty and students at UFV to administer fitness testing for the Chilliwack Fire Department. Jacob is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). He sees clients in Chilliwack and Abbotsford.

Jenna completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2010 from the University of New Brunswick. Before joining Community Therapists, Jenna worked as a Disability Management Assistant Coordinator providing active rehabilitation and work conditioning to injured workers in Occupational Rehabilitation programs. She has also worked as a Kinesiologist at Oceanside Physiotherapy in Parkville B.C. Jenna is member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK), and is a Certified Personal Trainer with CSEP Canada. Jenna's specialty is Return to Work Support Services and she also accepts community clients in Vancouver and Burnaby.

John completed his Bachelor of Human Kinetics at Trinity Western University in 2019. Before he joined Community Therapists, he volunteered at the university performing functional movement assessments for athletes and work simulation assessments for students. He has also volunteered as a basketball coach for children improving their techniques and teaching them teamwork. John is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). He is fluent in Korean and sees clients in Surrey, Delta and Langley.

Josh completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2019 from the University of British Columbia. Before he joined the Community Therapists' team, he volunteered at the UBC Hospital in their physiotherapy exercise group in which he helped elderly residents with their group exercises. He also volunteered at the Residences for Independent Living Society demonstrating and leading postural stretching and strength exercises for tenants with physical disabilities. Josh is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). He sees clients on the North Shore, Vancouver and Burnaby and provides support to our rehabilitation team at a geriatric facility.

Kayla completed her Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education with a major in Kinesiology and a minor in psychology at the University of Alberta in 2017. Before starting with Community Therapists, she gained extensive experience in a clinic based Return to Work Program where she completed GRTW programs, Job Site Visits and in-clinic active rehabilitation including both group and one on one education sessions. Client populations seen in this setting included orthopedic and soft tissue injury as well as individuals recovering from concussion. Kayla also has experience in 1:1 personal training and working with pediatric clients as a support worker where she provided social-emotional and academic support for clients with diagnoses including FASD, ADHD and ODD. Kayla is a member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She provides Return to Work Support Services and rehabilitation for clients in Tri-Cities, Burnaby, Surrey and Delta.

Mike graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2009 with a major in Kinesiology and an extended minor in Psychology. He is a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) and he works concurrently as an Active Rehabilitation Therapist. Mike's past experience includes both exercise prescription for athletes as well as program design for patients with musculoskeletal injuries and other medical conditions. Mike also works as a scuba instructor and is working towards offering adaptive therapy through scuba diving and teaching scuba to those with disabilities. He sees clients in the Abbotsford, Langley and Surrey areas.

Natasha completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2018 from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Natasha provided research and input towards the development of YMCA's Mind Fit Program, which was designed to support teens in learning how to incorporate physical activity into their mental wellness plan. She is also a trainer for the Damesh United Football Club, where she develops and executes training programs for both well and injured athletes. Natasha is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She is fluent in Punjabi and sees clients in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and Richmond.

Reginia graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics in 2007. She joined Community Therapists shortly thereafter. Reginia has 2 years experience as a fitness evaluator as well as expertise in implementing cardiac rehabilitation programs. Reginia works with a variety of health populations including acquired brain injury and soft tissue/orthopedic injury. Reginia is a BCRPA registered Personal Trainer and she is fluent in Cantonese and has basic knowledge of Mandarin.

Sage graduated with her Degree in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia in 2014. She previously worked in a chronic pain clinic assisting physiotherapists in their treatment of clients. During that time, she would administer therapeutic modalities such as TENS and ultrasound, prescribe and coach rehab exercise and develop and instruct personalized aqua therapy exercise programs for clients with a variety of injuries. Sage is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She sees clients in the West Kootenay region, including Trail, Rossland, Nelson, Castlegar and Ymir.

Siara completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2019 from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Siara worked as a personal trainer making exercise programs for clients and leading bootcamp and group training classes. She also volunteered at the UBC Varsity Gym running warm ups in both gym and field settings, implementing fitness testing and assisting injured athletes with modifying exercises. Siara has also volunteered coaching soccer and basketball teams with people of all ages and disabilities for the Special Olympics and Delta Youth Soccer Association. She is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). Siara is Punjabi speaking and sees clients in Vancouver, Burnaby and Richmond.
