Amar graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 2015. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Amar worked as a Kinesiologist with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation provider in occupational rehabilitation (OR1 & 2) and RTWSS.
Amar implemented work simulation activities and developed and monitored graduated return to work plans in collaboration with his client's healthcare team members. Amar joined Community Therapists in 2018 and is fluent in Punjabi. He is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). Amar provides return to work support services for clients in Surrey and Delta.
Bhavjot completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2018 from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Bhavjot volunteered at CARE at the Delta Hospital. In this role, she worked with elderly patients to provide companionship through one-on-one social visits.
She also worked as an athletic trainer at UBC where she completed injury assessments for athletes and performed other functions related to injury prevention. As a trainer, she provided pre-season base line concussion tests, emergency first-aid and various forms of treatments. Bhavjot is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She is fluent in Punjabi and sees clients in Surrey, Delta and Richmond.
Charlie completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2017 from the University of the Fraser Valley. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Charlie worked as an athletic trainer.
In this role, he provided first aid, joint wrapping and taping, injury prevention, evaluations, and management of sports related injuries. Charlie is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). He sees clients in Pitt Meadows, Tri-Cities, New Westminster, and Surrey.
Charmaine graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 1998. She has developed expertise in providing instruction in safe lifting, body mechanics, energy conservation, and work style modification and has implemented a variety of gym and aquatic based programs.
She has strong communication skills and works as a member of a rehabilitation team with a variety of health populations that includes acquired brain injury, geriatrics and soft tissue/orthopedic injury. Charmaine is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. She sees clients in Surrey, Burnaby, Vancouver and the North shore.
Diane graduated from the University of Victoria with a BA in Kinesiology in 1999 and joined Community Therapists in 2002. Her extensive knowledge of adapted fitness facilitates client's early return to work following soft-tissue, orthopedic and brain injuries.
Diane’s approach to client education focuses on principles of correct body mechanics, safe lifting and the use of adaptive equipment. Diane is fluent in French and sees clients in the Vancouver area. She also provides support to our rehabilitation team at one of our extended care facility client sites.
Erin completed her Bachelor of Human Kinetics in 2019 at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. Before joining Community Therapists, Erin was a lab researcher at UBCO studying different exercise prescriptions for athletes based on their unique exercise physiology.
She was also a student trainer for the UBCO Cross Country team where she worked alongside the coach and athletic therapists on injury prevention for the team. Erin is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She sees clients in Vancouver and Burnaby.
IIrene completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 1997 and joined the practice in 1998. Her past work experience included Fitness Counseling at Vancouver Health & Sciences Center (Employee Wellness Center).
She has implemented numerous physical skills, cognitive rehabilitation and community integration programs and has worked with clients with neurological and orthopedic impairments. Irene provides both active rehabilitation and return to work support services for clients in Vancouver, Burnaby and the North Shore. Irene is a past president of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists and speaks Cantonese fluently.
Jacob completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology in Exercise Science in 2018 from the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV). Before joining Community Therapists, he volunteered as an Assistant Coach with Special Olympics BC where he ran sports programs for athletes with various disabilities and provided coaching during tournaments.
He also collaborated with faculty and students at UFV to administer fitness testing for the Chilliwack Fire Department. Jacob is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). He sees clients in Chilliwack and Abbotsford.
Jenna completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2010 from the University of New Brunswick. Before joining Community Therapists, Jenna provided active rehabilitation and work conditioning for injured workers in a Surrey based Occupational Rehabilitation program.
Jenna gained extensive experience working with numerous health populations at CTI including orthopedics, brain injury, chronic pain, mental health and concussion. She has implemented a wide variety of programs including land and pool-based activation, home programs and return to work support services. A natural leader with varied experience, Jenna took on the role of Kinesiology Clinical Practice leader in 2019 and provides training, support and mentorship for the kinesiologist team, serves as CTIs BCAK liaison, and provides feedback to management on service delivery issues. She provides gym, pool, home and RTW programs in Vancouver and Burnaby.
Joshua completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2019 from the University of British Columbia. Before he joined the Community Therapists, he volunteered at UBC Hospital in an out-patient physiotherapy exercise group in which he helps elderly residents remain mobile and pain free.
He also volunteered at the Residences for Independent Living Society demonstrating and leading postural stretching and strength exercises for tenants with physical disabilities. Josh is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). He sees clients on the North Shore, Vancouver and in Burnaby and provides support to our rehabilitation team at one of geriatric facility client sites.
Natasha completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2018 from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Natasha provided research and input towards the development of YMCA's Mind Fit Program, which was designed to support teens in learning how to incorporate physical activity into their mental wellness plan.
She is also a trainer for the Damesh United Football Club, where she develops and executes training programs for both well and injured athletes. Natasha is a current member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She is fluent in Punjabi and sees clients in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and Richmond.
Reginia graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics in 2007 and joined Community Therapists shortly thereafter. Reginia works with a variety of health populations including acquired brain injury and soft tissue/orthopedic injury.
Reginia is a member of British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) and she is fluent in Cantonese, has basic knowledge of Mandarin and sees clients in Coquitlam, Poco and Port Moody.
Phil joined Community Therapists in 2020 as a Support Worker. He holds a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario and is a Certified Personal Trainer and member of BCRPA as well as a Certified Fitness Consultant with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists.
Prior to joining Community Therapists, Phil gained over 18 years of experience as a personal trainer and fitness instructor providing adapted fitness programs for clients with chronic illnesses such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Phil sees clients on the Sunshine Coast.
Stephanie completed her Bachelor of Sport and Fitness Leadership with a Specialization in Exercise and Wellness in 2016 from Camosun College. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Stephanie worked at Island Health as a Rehabilitation Assistant specializing in geriatric rehabilitation.
In this role, she carried out rehabilitation and exercise programs to help improve residents’ mobility and balance. Stephanie is a current member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She sees clients in Comox, Courtenay, Cumberland, Parksville, and Nanaimo.
