Amy joined Community Therapists in 2006 as an Accounting Assistant. Through continued professional development and mentorship, she was promoted to the position of Junior Accountant, and subsequently to the position of Controller.
In her current role, Amy is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, month end reporting, payroll and statutory filings, completing ad-hoc analyses and reports, and the development and documentation of accounting department policies and procedures. Amy received her professional accounting designation from the Certified General Accountants Association in 2012. She is a Dean's Honour List graduate, and obtained her Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 2011 from Laurentian University. She also holds a Financial Management degree from BCIT, and a Foundation Studies in Accounting Diploma from CGA.
Bachelor of Computer Technology
Danial joined Community Therapists in 2013 and from 2018 to 2022 he served as the IT Manager. He was responsible for implementing and maintaining a variety of informationa technology and telephony products and maintaining virtual and physical IT assets.
Since 2022, Danial has worked in an advisory capacity for the practice by providing support and advice for new initiatives and assisting with project implementation in a variety of areas. Danial works with the IT Administrator and leadership to develop strategic plans for the IT department to support practice growth, data security and improved functionality for all users.
Bachelor of Accounting
Dave joined Community Therapists in 2021 as an Accounting Assistant. He completed his Diploma in Accounting from BCIT in 2020 and is enrolled in the CPA program.
As one of CTI’s Accounting Assistant, Dave processes time sheets and expense reimbursement requests. He posts AR and AP entries, assists with invoice submissions, and completes collections activities. Dave also assists with payroll and other accounting duties and projects as assigned. Dave is fluent in Tagalog.
Bachelor of Arts
Bill joined Community Therapists in 2022 as an Accounting Assistant. He is presently completing his Diploma in Accounting from the University of British Columbia and is enrolled in the CPA program.
Bill primarily completes collections related task to support the accounting department. His duties also include updating billing system records and processing expenses. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Bill gained experience in office settings including an underwriting department and a law firm. Bill is fluent in Mandarin.
Diego joined Community Therapists in 2021 as an Office Assistant. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UBC in 2020. Prior to joining CTI, Diego worked in the retail industry where he gained sales and customer service experience.
Diego also possesses leadership experience from his work with the UBC Esports Association. Through his exceptional communication and organizational skills, he was promoted to the position of Office Administrator in 2022. He is responsible for facilities management, purchasing, clinical records management, supporting the clinical leadership team and internal communications to facilitate efficient operation of the practice. He also speaks Tagalog fluently.
Eva joined Community Therapists in 2020 as an HR Coordinator. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2017 from UBC, is currently working towards her HR Management Certification and is a CHRP candidate. She was promoted to the position of HR Manager in 2022.
Prior to joining CTI, Eva worked as an AP Administrator/Executive Assistant where she managed full cycle accounts payable and implemented a company-wide expense tracking system using SAP and Concur. In her role as CTI’s HR Manager, Eva completes select recruiting, onboarding, OH&S and benefits administration functions to support the practice. Eva is fluent in Mandarin.
Hyunju joined Community Therapists in 2021 as a Service Coordinator. She has her Bachelor Degree in Economics and Sociology from Songkonghoe University (South Korea) as well as her Master of Science in Hospitality Management Service from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Vancouver).
Prior to joining CTI, Hyunju worked as a Front Desk Agent at a Vancouver hotel where she managed and coordinated group and individual reservations. She also has experience in various administrative roles where she gained experience in customer service, coordinating vendors, handling cash and conducting security investigations. She is responsible for processing all WorkSafeBC referrals and providing information about our services to members of the public and our funders. Hyunju speaks Korean fluently.
John joined Community Therapists in 2022 as our IT Administrator. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences in 2014 from Kwantlen University. He holds a variety of certifications including CCNA, JAMF, CompTIA A+, AWS CP and RHCSA.
Prior to joining Community Therapists, John worked as a Data Center specialist for a leading firewall manufacturer and an IT systems administrator for a national tele-communications carrier. His resourceful approach to solving IT problems and implementing projects led to roles involving increasing complexity and responsibility. At Community Therapists, John is responsible for selecting, implementing and maintaining information technology & telephony products and services utilized at head office, clinic sites and remotely. He works closely with IT vendors, suppliers and CTI team members to ensure IT systems meet practice administration and privacy requirements.
Service and Communications Advisor
Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from SFU and first joined Community Therapists in 2011 as a Service Coordinator. After exploring other career paths in Marketing, Cultural Planning and Social Purpose Real Estate, Katie rejoined CTI in 2017.
In her current role, she provides mentorship & support for the Service Coordination team to ensure a frictionless experience for our clients, funders and referrers. Katie also completes communications projects and provides guidance related to our practice’s online presence, branding and social media properties. Katie’s diverse experience, her ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and her keen eye for detail has positioned her to be a successful mentor and communications advisor.
Operations & HR Manager
Laura joined Community Therapists in 2012. She received her Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Human Resources from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and in 2013 achieved the designation of Charted Professional in Human Resources (CPHR).
In 2019, she was promoted to her current role and in this capacity she is responsible for all non-accounting administrative functions and personnel, facilities management, human resources, benefits administration, coordination of staff training and orientation and OH&S. Laura is also CTI's Privacy Officer and her other portfolios include legal, corporate insurance, RFPs and special projects. Working in collaboration with clinical directors and the accounting manager, Laura develops and implements systems and policies to facilitate efficient and effective service delivery and manages the interface between clinical services and operations.
Kinesiology Service Coordinator
Mika joined Community Therapists in 2018 as an Office Assistant after receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from UBC. Mika’s excellent communication skills led to a promotion in the summer of 2020 to the role of Service Coordinator. In 2022, she was promoted again to the position of Kinesiology Service Coordinator.
Prior to joining Community Therapists, Mika worked in the food services industry where she gained 4 years of supervisory experience and developed skills in managing customer experience, scheduling and inventory management. As a Kinesiology Service Coordinator, Mika is responsible for processing rehabilitation and kinesiology referrals, providing administrative supervision for the kin team, monitoring service hours and travel utilization and providing information about our services to members of the public and our funders. Mika speaks conversational Cantonese.
Natalia joined Community Therapists’ office administration team in 2022. In 2021 she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining CTI, Natalia worked in a variety of industries including hospitality, education and wholesale horticulture. In her previous roles she gained experience in purchasing, inventory management, supervision and data entry.
As an office assistant, Natalia is responsible for reception duties, distributing mail, coordinating meetings, discharging clinical records and completing a variety of data entry tasks. Other duties include clinical report formatting and administrative support for director projects. Natalia is fluent in Polish.
Nicole joined the Community Therapists service coordination department in 2022. In 2021 she completed her Bachelor of Business Administration from Douglas College. Prior to joining CTI, Nicole gained experience in social media management, academic content editing and worked as a supervisor in the hospitality industry.
As part of the service coordination team, Nicole processes a range of referrals and service requests from agencies and private individuals and provides information about CTI’s programs and services. She also completes communications duties including social media management, advertising and other marketing support functions.
Raphael joined Community Therapists in 2020 as an Administrative Assistant after receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UBC. Prior to joining CTI, Raphael worked in a media company working with a team to help develop apps and games.
He also worked as a Finance Division Intern where he gained practical experience in journal entries, collections, invoicing, and arranging account statements. As an Administrative Assistant, Raphael is responsible for formatting and distributing clinical reports and other documents as well as client data entry.
BASc, Dip. Accounting
Robyn completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering in 2017 and subsequently completed a Diploma in Accounting in 2021. She joined Community Therapists in 2022 and is a CPA candidate currently enrolled in the CPA Core Program.
Prior to joining Community Therapists, Robyn gained experience in a in a “Big 5” accounting firm where she developed skills to support the audit & compliance deliverables for their public company clients. She also gained experience in expense processing, grant applications and inter-departmental fiscal allocations as well as supplier payment workflows in the post secondary education sector. As a junior accountant with Community Therapists, she completes employee payroll, invoicing, the preparation of information management reports, select collections tasks and other duties to support the department.
B.Sc. Kin., Dip. Accounting
Sanob Chan joined Community Therapists in 2013 as an Accounting Assistant and was promoted to Junior Accountant in 2017. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at SFU in 2009 and Diploma in Accounting at UBC in 2012.
Sanob has over 10 years of administrative and customer service experience. As a Junior Accountant with CTI, Sanob assists with preparing month end schedules, invoicing, payroll, special projects and credit reconciliations.
Victoria joined Community Therapists in 2022 as an Administrative Assistant. She previously completer a Bachelor of Laws degree in Venezuela and since arriving in Canada in 2021, she has been enrolled in the Associate of Arts degree program at University Canada West.
Victoria’s past roles have included Marketing Coordinator for Universal Music Argentina, retail sales and HR administration. She is a member of our report processing team and is responsible for formatting and distributing a variety of clinical reports and other documents. She also completes a variety of data entry tasks to update internal systems and payer portals. Victoria is fluent in Spanish.
