Accounting Assistant

Sanob Chan joined Community Therapists in 2013 as an Accounting Assistant and was promoted to Junior Accountant in 2017. Sanob completed his Diploma in Accounting Program from Sauder School of Business in 2012 and is currently pursuing his CPA designation (PREP). Sanob has over 5 years administrative and customer service experience, as well as a Bachelor's of Science degree in Kinesiology. Prior to joining CTI, Sanob worked as a Junior Accountant at GB Pilley and Associates in West Vancouver. As the Junior Accountant at CTI, Sanob prepares and sends out invoices and statements to fee payers and performs slip verification checks as part of payroll and billing processes. He reconciles petty cash and the corporate credit card statements and assists the department with other accounting duties and projects as assigned.


Amy Chee, CGA, H.B.Com.

Amy joined Community Therapists in 2006 as an Accounting Assistant. Through continued professional development and mentorship, she was promoted to the position of Junior Accountant, and subsequently to the position of Corporate Accountant. In her current role, Amy is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, month end reporting, payroll and statutory filings, completing ad-hoc analyses and reports, and the development and documentation of accounting department policies and procedures. Amy received her professional accounting designation from the Certified General Accountants Association in 2012. She is a Dean's Honour List graduate, and obtained her Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 2011 from Laurentian University. She also holds a Financial Management degree from BCIT, and a Foundation Studies in Accounting Diploma from CGA.

Laura Doig, Human Resources Manager

As the Human Resources Manager, Laura is responsible for recruitment, benefits administration, coordinating orientation and training for new staff and co-leading our Occupational Health and Safety committee. Laura is CTI's Privacy Officer and her other portfolios include Legal Issues, Corporate Insurance. Laura joined Community Therapists in 2012. She received her Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Human Resources from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and in 2013 achieved the designation of Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). Prior to joining CTI, Laura completed a practicum at the Ministry of Labour's Workers' Advisors Office where she developed a standard operating procedures manual and consolidated all of the agencies disparate employee manuals.


Kathy Gabriel
Office Manager

Kathy joined Community Therapists in 2005 after years of experience working in a paediatric hospital in Montreal. Since joining the practice, Kathy has worked in a number of administrative roles including Office Assistant, Reports Processing and Service Coordination. With this breadth of experience, Kathy took on the role of Office Manager in 2011. Kathy is responsible for facilities management, coordinating maintenance of our information technology and management information system resources as well as administrative staff scheduling, support and supervision. Kathy's other responsibilities include event planning & management, advertising & promotions and coordination of special projects such as office moves and CTI's response to Requests for Qualifications documents. Kathy is fluent in French and Greek.

Senior Office Assistant

Shaolin joined Community Therapists in 2013 as an Office Assistant and was promoted to Senior Office Assistant in 2014. Shaolin is responsible for providing support to the Directors and Management as well as coordinating information management activities to facilitate the reporting of clinical outcome measures reporting. She graduated from Capilano University in 2007 with a Business Management Diploma and has over 5 years of experience in administrative roles. Prior to joining CTI, she was an Office Assistant and Receptionist at The Primoris Personnel Institute. Shaolin is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Administrative Assistant

Renata joined Community Therapists in 2016 as an Administrative Assistant after graduating from Langara College with a diploma in Business Management. Prior to joining CTI, Renata worked in the hotel industry where she was often recognized for her superior customer service and excellence as a team player. As an Administrative Assistant, Renata is responsible for reception duties, formatting and distributing reports and other documents, and client data entry. She also assists the accounting department with projects as assigned. Renata is fluent in Hungarian and German.

Ankita Shah
Office Assistant

Ankita joined Community Therapists in 2018 as an Office Assistant after receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Victoria. She gained experience while working at UVic as an Administrative Assistant for 4 years. In that role, Ankita organized on campus events, assisted in the creation of promotional materials and prepared a variety of documentation including meeting minutes. As the Office Assistant, Ankita is responsible for a number of clerical duties that support our various programs, including data entry, photocopying, clinical document formatting and filing.

Katie Stewart holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from SFU and first joined Community Therapists in 2011 as a Service Coordinator. After exploring other career paths in Marketing, Cultural Planning and Social Purpose Real Estate, Katie rejoined CTI in 2017. She brings almost 5 years combined experience in her role and is responsible for managing incoming referrals and providing information about our services to clients and funders. She juggles the needs of multiple stakeholders and thrives in our fast-paced office environment. She possesses excellent communication skills and genuine empathy for our clients.

Natasha Tonsoo

Service & Communications Coordinator

Natasha joined Community Therapists in 2014 as an Administrative Assistant. Her keen attention to detail, coupled with her excellent communication skills, lead to a promotion in the summer of 2014 to the role of Service Coordinator. In the spring of 2015 she was promoted to her current role of Service & Communications Coordinator. In addition to processing therapist and rehab assistant referrals at CTI, Natasha supports the company's promotional efforts by attending conferences, educational seminars and hosting in-house events. Natasha also handles all marketing and communication activities including advertising, web-content and social media management and the development of promotional materials. Natasha obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University, majoring in Psychology, in 2012. Prior to joining Community Therapists, Natasha gained experience in the Healthcare field as a Work Unit Task Assistant for Coast Mental Health in Vancouver, BC.

Derek Wong web

Derek Wong
Accounting Assistant

Derek Wong joined Community Therapists in 2017 as an Accounting Assistant. Derek completed his Diploma in Accounting from BCIT in 2016 and is currently pursuing his Bachelor's in Accounting. Prior to joining CTI, Derek worked as a teaching assistant at Kumon Tutorial Centre and also provided administrative support to the accounts receivable and payroll departments. Derek has also volunteered at BCIT providing basic tax advice to customers and helping them file personal tax returns. As CTI's Accounting Assistant, Derek processes time sheets and expense reimbursement requests. He posts AR and AP entries, assists with invoice submissions, and performs collections processes on outstanding invoices. Derek also distributes information management reports and assists with other accounting duties and projects as assigned.

Desktop Support Technician

Danial Zargoosh joined Community Therapists in 2013. As a Desktop Support Technician, Danial is responsible for assisting the corporate head office and remote workers with technical support for desktop computers, laptops and related technology. He is currently pursuing an Urban Land Economics diploma at Sauder School of Business. Danial's previous experience includes working as a Webcast Producer and Operations Center Supervisor for Neulion and he has over 7 years of experience as a webcast technician, producer and Customer Service professional.
