Amy joined Community Therapists in 2006 as an Accounting Assistant. Through continued professional development and mentorship, she was promoted to the position of Junior Accountant, and subsequently to the position of Controller.
In her current role, Amy is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, month end reporting, payroll and statutory filings, completing ad-hoc analyses and reports, and the development and documentation of accounting department policies and procedures. Amy received her professional accounting designation from the Certified General Accountants Association in 2012. She is a Dean's Honour List graduate, and obtained her Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 2011 from Laurentian University. She also holds a Financial Management degree from BCIT, and a Foundation Studies in Accounting Diploma from CGA.
Bachelor of Computer Technology
Danial joined Community Therapists in 2013 as a Desktop Support Technician. In 2018, he was promoted to his current role where he is responsible for selecting, implementing and maintaining information technology & telephony products and services utilized at head office, clinic sites and remotely.
Danial works closely with IT contractors, suppliers and CTI team members to ensure IT systems meet practice administration and privacy requirements. Danial's previous experience includes working as a Webcast Producer and Operations Center Supervisor for Neulion.
Bachelor of Accounting
Derek joined Community Therapists in 2017 as an Accounting Assistant. Through continued professional development and mentorship, he was promoted to Junior Accountant in 2020. Derek is an alumnus from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and has a Bachelor of Accounting.
Through his current work experience and additional education, he is actively working toward his Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. As a Junior Accountant with Community Therapists, he works collaboratively to resolve problems for both internal and external stakeholders and is responsible for aspects of payroll, invoicing, collections, payables and bank deposits. He also assists with the preparation of financial reports.
Eva joined Community Therapists in 2020 as an HR Coordinator. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2017 from UBC, is currently working towards her HR Management Certification and is a CHRP candidate.
Prior to joining CTI, Eva worked as an AP Administrator/Executive Assistant where she managed full cycle accounts payable and implemented a company-wide expense tracking system using SAP and Concur. At Community Therapists, Eva supervises and provides HR support for the Kinesiology department and completes and coordinates kinesiologist and therapist referrals. Eva is fluent in Mandarin.
Hyunju joined Community Therapists in 2021 as a Service Coordinator. She has her Bachelor Degree in Economics and Sociology from Songkonghoe University (South Korea) as well as her Master of Science in Hospitality Management Service from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Vancouver).
Prior to joining CTI, Hyunju worked as a Front Desk Agent at a Vancouver hotel where she managed and coordinated group and individual reservations. She also has experience in various administrative roles where she gained experience in customer service, coordinating vendors, handling cash and conducting security investigations. She is responsible for processing all WorkSafeBC referrals and providing information about our services to members of the public and our funders. Hyunju speaks Korean fluently.
Service and Communications Advisor
Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from SFU and first joined Community Therapists in 2011 as a Service Coordinator. After exploring other career paths in Marketing, Cultural Planning and Social Purpose Real Estate, Katie rejoined CTI in 2017.
In her current role, she provides mentorship & support for the Service Coordination team to ensure a frictionless experience for our clients, funders and referrers. Katie also completes communications projects and provides guidance related to our practice’s online presence, branding and social media properties. Katie’s diverse experience, her ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and her keen eye for detail has positioned her to be a successful mentor and communications advisor.
Operations & HR Manager
Laura joined Community Therapists in 2012. She received her Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Human Resources from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and in 2013 achieved the designation of Charted Professional in Human Resources (CPHR).
In 2019, she was promoted to her current role and in this capacity she is responsible for all non-accounting administrative functions and personnel, facilities management, human resources, benefits administration, coordination of staff training and orientation and OH&S. Laura is also CTI's Privacy Officer and her other portfolios include legal, corporate insurance, RFPs and special projects. Working in collaboration with clinical directors and the accounting manager, Laura develops and implements systems and policies to facilitate efficient and effective service delivery and manages the interface between clinical services and operations.
Mika joined Community Therapists in 2018 as an Office Assistant after receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from UBC. Mika’s excellent communication skills led to a promotion in the summer of 2020 to the role of Service Coordinator.
Prior to joining Community Therapists, Mika worked in the food services industry where she gained 4 years of supervisory experience and developed skills in managing customer experience, scheduling and inventory management. As a Service Coordinator, Mika is responsible for processing referrals and providing information about our services to members of the public and our funders. She also continues to provide administrative support for internal stakeholders. Mika speaks conversational Cantonese.
Raphael joined Community Therapists in 2020 as an Administrative Assistant after receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UBC. Prior to joining CTI, Raphael worked in a media company working with a team to help develop apps and games.
He also worked as a Finance Division Intern where he gained practical experience in journal entries, collections, invoicing, and arranging account statements. As an Administrative Assistant, Raphael is responsible for formatting and distributing clinical reports and other documents as well as client data entry.
B.Sc. Kin., Dip. Accounting
Sanob Chan joined Community Therapists in 2013 as an Accounting Assistant and was promoted to Junior Accountant in 2017. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at SFU in 2009 and Diploma in Accounting at UBC in 2012.
Sanob has over 10 years of administrative and customer service experience. As a Junior Accountant with CTI, Sanob assists with preparing month end schedules, invoicing, payroll, special projects and credit reconciliations.
Dip. Business Management
Senior Office Assistant
Shaolin graduated from Capilano University in 2007 with a Business Management Diploma. She joined Community Therapists in 2013 as an Office Assistant and was promoted to Senior Office Assistant in 2014.
She is responsible for providing support to the directors and management as well as coordinating information management activities to facilitate the reporting of clinical outcome measures. Shaolin completes medical legal report formatting, purchasing and a variety of data entry tasks. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Cert. HR Management
Viktoriia joined Community Therapists in 2020 as an Office Assistant. She obtained her Human Resources Management Certificate from BCIT in 2019. Prior to joining CTI, Viktoriia worked at a law firm as an administrative assistant.
She gained experience managing requests for litigation files, communicating with clients/lawyers and preparing documents to support court filings. She provides administrative support for our various programs including data entry, photocopying and accounting support. Viktoriia speaks Russian fluently.
